By practicing “For study and for helping, promoting wealth and promoting sympathy” said by Academician PEI Gang, president of Tongji University, EMBA Alumni show thankfulness to the alma mater and attention to the society. They are zealous in charity and public welfare activities, and undertake social responsibility.

In 2006, a status named “Rise” was donated by EMBA alumni association.

A scholarship of nearly one million RMB sponsored by the graduates of Class 4 and Class 7 was set to support the development of Tongji-SEM.

In 2003, Mr. LIAO Chunrong, vice deputy of EMBA Alumni Association, established “Yinrun Scholarship” to subsidize students from poor families and he has also donated nearly 10 million RMB to Shanghai Charity Foundation and Tongji University in total.

The graduates of Class 5 raised 100,000 RMB to aid schooling in rural areas in Anhui Province. At the First Anniversary of Wenchuan Earthquake, EMBA alumni went to Dujiangyan City for saluting and donated over 260,000 RMB for the reconstruction of local kindergartens.

In 2010, Qianwan Hope school of Xiangnan Village, Tongwei County, Dingxi City of Gansu Province was completed, which was subsidized by the donation of 425,000 RMB by the graduates of Class 6. Until then, there are over ten Hope Schools subsidized by Tongji EMBA alumni.
